Alain Choppin (1948-2009)
Na manhã do último sábado, dia 16 de maio, faleceu Alain Choppin. Estava doente há muito tempo e por pouco não foi impedido de participar do nosso Simpósio Internacional Livro Didático: Educação e História, ocorrido em São Paulo, em 2007. Ele foi a grande inspiração e o principal incentivador das pesquisas sobre o livro didático que vínhamos realizando desde os anos 1990. Para o grupo do Projeto Livres, de que participamos Circe Bittencourt e eu, entre tantos outros, ele foi colaborador, referência, apoio e, principalmente, grande amigo. A comunidade de investigadores de livros didáticos, cartilhas, leituras escolares e assuntos conexos perde o seu grande pai fundador.
